    Hello to all
Do you have a name for this plant that is growing in a neighbour’s garden? The first idea I had was Giant Hogweed.

    Sorry for the quality 680E4A5D-AB8A-4F0A-97F1-ED688475D255.jpeg

    Thanks in advance.

I can’t see the leaves clearly but to me they look nothing like either the Giant or Common Hogweeds.

From what I can see my best bet is a parsnip that’s been left in the ground overwinter and is now producing a flower head. Apparently they were used as ornamentals in a Chelsea garden a few years ago.

Another thought is flat leaved parsley that is running to seed.

More photographs, including one of the base of the plant, would give us a better chance of a firmer ID.

ETA yet another thought is a lovage flower spike.

I believe you nailed it @Dovefromabove :dbgrtmb:
Compairing Hogweed and Lovage, it looks like Lovage.
          Thanks a lot.

I just wanted to make sure that there is no trouble ahead.

I had a massive lovage plant in a previous garden … well over 7’. I keep meaning to find room for one here … as you say it’s so useful in soup, and I make a lot of soup. :)

I didn't see your other pix till later @simone_in_wiltshire - but when I did, I could see they weren't right for hogweed.
I don't grow lovage or parsley, so I wouldn't have known those. That's great that the others have helped you out, and most importantly - you don't need to worry about it being any kind of problem
