Stayed at my cousin's in York on the way to Northumberland and thought you might like to see some pics of his Somali cats. They are similar to an Abyssinian but with semi long coats and have the colour and banding pattern of an Agouti (rodent). They have a long bushy tail and are beautiful cats, they are more popular in the US but uncommon here, has anyone else seen or heard of them?

They are outdoor cats as well, there is a cat flap hence the magnetic collars for restricted entry.

kathy3 I used to be terrified of cats after a bad experience of getting clawed down my back and it took me a lot of years to overcome my fear of them, you will get there, good idea starting with a kitten.good luck [IMG] [IMG] you will be fine

They are very friendly although living with my cousin who lives alone they are wary of strangers at first but end up on your lap after a while. If we didn't have ours we would have thought about one (or two). :D
