Frost had them this morning! They may recover depending how severe the frost was for you. I had some backened leaves last year and they recovered okay.

If you can you can fleece your tatties when frost is forecast, or you can get up before the sun rises on a frosty morning to "wash" the frost off with a hose or watering can.

    Steve...:)

I assume they are certified seed potatoes you planted?

Could you be over-watering them, drowning them?

Maybe you've damaged them moving them about?

Whatever it is there is not much you can do about it, if the growing tips are ok they will soon recover, if not just plant some more in a couple of weeks. Some sharpe frosts forecast up your way this weekend

maybe the moving might have done it , as for watering we had that much rain over the previous days that could be a factor too but why are they not all black? i shall see how they turn out and once again put it down to experiance

Ive got loads of rotten looking leaves on my potato plants since last week or two's cold spells. Im sincerely hoping they will recover as the shoots seem to be still growing but the leaves are black and withered looking. I'm sure its frostbite, had loads of bad leaves last year due to bad weather but never so early on. I currently have them tucked up in fleece in greenhouse tonight as its going to be -2 or -3 out there. I'm really hoping I've not lost them :(

Good luck and let me know how you get on.
