[IMG] Now I know I should know what this is.... I have had it a couple of years now, it is growing steadily & I used to know, but now minds gone totally blank.....!!! :D

What is this plant please. I know I have to water in the top of the plant like the pineapple & bromelaids etc....

Hello Marley. This is bugging me as well. Are we to assume you have never seen it bloom?

It rather looks like a nice tight clump of Guzmania, but my leaves are slimmer I think. I have gone through my American books, which are quite comprehensive, but have come up with nothing more.

Surely pete will know when you comes on this evening. [IMG]

    :D OK you two... :D

You are right LoL, never seen it flower. I was given it by one of my grand children as quite a tiny plant about 18 months ago in a 2" pot & it has grown steadily to this. It is in a 6" square pot now.. I know I should know what it is but blessed if I can remember or find if I wrote it down any where. Not even a label which makes me think I was confident I would remember.... But of course haven't...!!! :D So any help, maybe Pete as you say LoL.. Or Somebody will know...!! :D

The name escapes me, but it should, I think be varegated, I grew one for a while in a terrerium, probably why it was in a small pot, I think its considered a good plant for that purpose.
Its one for strongy I think. [IMG]

The only other thing that had crossed my mind but I'm not really sure about is an Aglaonema, the Chinese Evergreens, but I am not very familiar with them.

This doesn't look like a bromeliad to me. It is more like Dracaena deremensis 'Compacta', which is widely sold for bottle gardens when young and as a compact 'pot plant' when larger.
