Being Remembrance Day ,i have been watching some of the History Channels this morning.
They showed a Thing the Russians done Prior to the German Onslaught on Stalingrad during WW2. The Russians Trained Dogs in the Warfare. they starved the Dogs and when they did feed them, the food was placed (Under A Tank).
The dogs Eventually (Brainwashed) thought that was the only place food could be found.
When the German Panther Tanks were making their attack on Stalingrad the dogs were fitted with a body Harness of Explosives Which could be set off with a Remote Control.
on the approach of the German Tanks the dogs were let off the Leash then Immediately ran under the approaching Tanks for food. when the dog Reached the Weakest point of the tank
the UNDERBELLY the Handler would ( Then Press The Remote Control ).

Quite a clever if not slightly sad and upsetting idea to the least...

    There's a lot we don't know Music.
I don't think war has ever achieved anything.
My deepest admiration and respect goes to those we send.
But why do we send them ?
My own father was a victim of the 1939 - 1945 war. Prisoner of war and all that.
    Don't want to say anymore.

There was a company here in Canada that was selling purple poppies, to honor all the animals that have been lost in the War's.

Such a waste of life but all of those who have given their lives in our defence deserve all our thanks and remembrance..........

Can I add a lighter note to a respectfull thread.

I'm proud to announce that Daughter Willow has been asked to lay a wreath at the War Memorial on sunday.

As some of you know, we live in an ex British Legion Hall & the Memorial is next door.

Willow cleaned the enclosure during the summer & the secretary found out & sent her a nice letter of thanks & an invitation to attend the service.
