something is eating my flowers

hi i have come across my plants that seem to be eaten alive any ideas what would be the pest thanks

 

That looks like the work of caterpillars. They may be very small but you can see them if you look closely.

 

Thanks but cannot see any of caterpillar if it is they are very hungrey.

 

I would say slugs or snails, as it's the stems as well as the leaves that have been munched.

 

Agree with @NigelJ on it being slugs, their activity seems to be peaking in my own garden ATM, they usually have a gradual nibble at young eryngium leaves but they're really taking chunks out of mine this year!
