something strange......

    Anyone have any idea what this is??? It's NOT a slug and it's NOT a caterpillar, it's some sort of maggot I think. I found it on my half standard weeping pussy willow plant and have never seen anything like it. I did a search but drew a blank.

    Could it be an earwig larvae? What makes me say that is you can sort of see the pincers at the back end through the translucent outer stuff. Failing that it could be an alien:)

    Ah clueless1....... no just had a look and discovered that it's a hoverfly larvae!!!! Thanks for steering me in the right direction!!!!!
