I planted out a rosa glauca last autumn which was in a plastic pot. It seemed to come through the winter with all that snow OK , flowered in May/June and since then has got lots of hips on it but it looks very sorry for itself and doesn't seem to have grown any taller although it is bushier. Should I prune it or feed it or is this normal?
This is a photo of it last year, when I extended the flower bed to give it room.

I should be very grateful for any advice that you can give me.

 Well I don't know too much about them myself, but my friend has a small hedge of them & she feeds them after flowering with a high nitrogen fertilizer & keeps them mulched as well.. She says although drought tolerant they do need a hand to stay looking good & the mulch keeps the moisture in.. She said she also prunes hers lightly after flowering, so they keep their shape, but she does leave the rose hips on as much as possible as she makes Rose-hip syrup from them... :WINK1:
She gave me this link.. Rosa glauca Red-Leafed Rose PFAF Plant Database
    Hope this helps..

Thank you for all that information; I think that I need to give it more water each day especially as it has so many hips. Maybe the weight of them is pulling it down as well ! Thanks again.
