Sourcing cheap plants for my 3 year old

    Hi all

    I am getting ready to plant up 9 different pots to teach little chimneyrose garden about gardening I need to sourse the following plants. I am thinking of just.doing a search on ebay. I dont want to grow from seed coz I want to make sure if my health gets any worse hubby wil be able to do it woith her.
    SoThese are the plants
    10 dianthus
    7 lemon thyme
    10 hyacinth bulbs (pink ones)
    3 choc cosmos
    3 scented day lilly (i thaught the stamens really irritated the skin)
    3 pots of lillys
    3 dwarf lavendre
    3 chamomile
    Tulip bulbs
    2 unstopped apple trees
    Lettuve
    2 arburita
    Margoram
    Golden thyme
    Scabious
    6 viola (edible flowers)
    2 nasturtium
    Patio cherry tom
    Patio pepper
    Patio aubergine
    Basil
    Some type of herb wheel
    Peas
    Rasberries (she is allergic to strawberrries)

    I cant use blue slug pellets coz of littlecrg

    So should I just search each plant on ebay and buy cheapest?

      I would add strawberries, really easy and edible.

        I'd add peas too. Easy, and what kid doesn't like peas straight from the pods.

          You'll probably find lots of cheap Hyacinthe (forced) bulbs in the GC's now. Could well be a few cheap Tulips too.

            There are sales on in the GCs right now, I noticed some were selling things at 50% off. Mostly the stuff I saw were tender so would need protection until the spring.

            It's a little early for a few of those items you list, as an idea, in late March/April time post on the Tomato growing thread, I'm sure someone would send you some spare seedlings. I will if I have the varities you want.

                THanks for all the lovely offers. I think I will just focus on getting the 9 pots and soil in them first I have also baught 4 veg bags. and raid wilkinson in the spring.
                Am I right that the pollen on lilys is a skin irritant? If so what else smalls nice phlox or nicotina?
                Sweet william?
                Also what can I use instead of blue slug pellets? Egg shells? Beer traps?

                I managed to get 4 big veg bags and 9 43 ltr pocketed grow bags for 23 quid. So thats a cheap start :)

                  Well i bit the bullet, cleared space on the kitchen windowsill and baught a cheappy cloche, some trays and some seeds from wilkinsons. starting at 40p a pack i couldnt argue against it. not quite the list i wanted but something similar will post what i managed to get later. by the time i get organised with my pots etc it will prob be march april time :) just in time to get planting with little chimney

                    ve managed to scrounge some spring bulbs from mum and she said I can raid her veg seeds :)
                    So ive still got to get
