sowing peas in toilet roll insides

    I've read somewhere that its good to sow peas in toilet roll tubes because they need deep soil for their roots.
    Can i ask what do you do with the bottoms once they're full of compost, if you need to move them wont it all fall out? :cnfs:
    I've been saving them and was going to sow some today until I thought about the empty bottom

    Block the end of the tube with a piece of newspaper.

    I used the rolls last year and had no issue with loose bottoms.....:o:lollol:
    It could depend on type and dryness of media used...I suppose

    aahh I see. I haven't got any newspaper at the moment, I used my stash to wrap breakables when my mum moved house couple of weeks ago.
    Firm bottoms is what I'll try for then ( altogether now.... tense..2..3.. relax..2..3 ) :lollol:

    Stand them in a seedtray, by the time it comes to planting out, it wont matter.:gnthb:

    I did it last year it was very succesfull, but I stood my tubes in a tray with modules.

    Imodium is good for loose bottoms.:hehe:
