    Hi all

We are RAF and as we are moving hopefully at the end of April we have been told the raised bed I have has to go, all plants removed and the area flattened and grass growing in the area.
Today we took it all apart and moved all the plants to containers ready to transplant in the new garden.
The problem is the grass or lack of. Bought seed today and once its all flattened can we sow the seed now or should we wait a bit longer? We really need it to be growing by the end of March really so we arent charged for it. We thought about getting turf but it must be impossible to get hold of as there isnt much in the way of seed just now.
The area in question is roughly 6 foot long and a couple of feet wide and it goes around to an extra 4 feet, so an L shape really.

Lady G is spot on. You will be struggling to get grass seed to germinate and produce a good showing by April so for the small area involved it would be ideal to transplant some turf from the new place if distance is not a problem.

I would suggest seeding the new lawn area. Though you can hire a turf cutter to take up your old lawn or just by some turf in? rolawn and turfshop are good web sites + they have lots of info on what not to do and what to do.
