    Have you tried the following?

    Turn them on?

Make sure they have a power supply switched on (Most speakers for computers require a power supply)

Are they plugged into the computer sound card (Usually green socket) Unplug and replug them in

Have you turned the volume down (speaker icon in the task bar)

    Or start>settings>control panel>sounds and audio devices>volume

Linda, how many audio output sockets do you have on your computer ? If you've got more more than one, it could be that your audio settings are sending the audio to a socket that the speakers are not connected to.

It doesn't it should be up.

I see you did not read my last post correctly. it says

It doesn't say "You should turn the speaker volume down"

    Its not really.

All we are trying to do is to figure what you / a n other did to turn the audio volume down. That involves asking have you .................

    Or put it this way.

The last time the speakers were working, what did you do next?

Rosa, have you a headset? If so you could plug that into the speaker socket, that would prove whether it was the PC or your speakers not working.

Rosa - in the bottom right hand corner of your screen there should be a loudspeaker icon. Try double clicking on it. A window should pop up with various 'sliders' to control various things. Make sure the "Mute all" box doesn't have a tick in it - if it does then click on it to remove the tick.

I'll believe you -- don't feel bad about it!

I've worked in computer support on occasions for my sins, and have worked and played with computers for nearly 25 years now. 'not being plugged in' is the commonest problem --- everyone has done it.
It's always worth a check and usually best to make it the first thing you check! Is it plugged in? Is it turned on?
