Building on the previous year’s very successful opening (the charity eventually got approx £3,500)
Mr And Mrs Shiney invite you to enjoy a walk around their garden
and relax over some homemade cakes and a cup of tea or coffee
There will be the usual large amount of plants for sale
A book stall with many almost new best sellers
Live classical, folk and popular music from the Essex Guitar Group
    And singer Zara Fox

ENTRY DONATION £1 - TEA WITH CAKE £1.50

LIVE MUSIC ON SATURDAY 11.30 and 2.30

BOOK STALL - PLANT SALE - RAFFLE

As usual I shall be giving a private tour to GC members at 11.30 on Saturday and you are then welcome to join Mrs shiney and myself for a sandwich and a cuppa. If you are unable to make it for that time then you will still be most welcome any other time - but you'll miss meeting the other members.

We are half way between junctions 7 and 8 on the M11 (15 minutes from both) and 15-20 minute from Hertford and Chelmsford. For those of you flying in to Stansted we are 15 minutes from there as well :heehee:.

PM me for detailed driving instructions.

This is the link to a preview I put on GC three years ago

Unfortunately, Shiney, I will be on holiday in Rutland at that time which is more than frustrating because I would have loved to have been there. :cry3: But I do wish you great success with the Garden Opening - it's for a really good cause:thumbsup:

      Hi John,
Brilliant :yahoo:. We'll see you :dbgrtmb:

      Miraflores,
I hope you can manage it on the day.

      Kristen,
we're about 45 minutes from Bury St Edmunds (at the way I drive on the A14 and M11 :heehee:) but it may take a few minutes longer from your place although you are nearer. It will be good to see you :thumb:

      ARMANDII,
Rutland is a lot nearer than wheere you live :D. We're an hour and a quarter from Rutland Water so if you feel like a little drive that weekend we're just down the road . Also, if you're in Rutland, a good place to see is Anglesey Abbey (near Cambridge) which will not be too far from you. :)

Hi Shiney, I don't think we will make it this year as we are going away twice before then :gaagh:

I hope everything goes well and the weather holds out too. If not take the umbrella like last year!
If anyone is thinking of going it really is worth the effort. Mr and Mrs Shiney [and the lovely Oscar] really make you welcome and are excellent hosts. :sunny:

      Hi Shiney!

I'm still new to the forum but really hoping to be able to pop over as I know you're nearby to us in Hertford (and I suspect you'll have some brilliant plants for sale for a great cause!) And of course because your garden looks fab. :)

      Hi wftw,
If you decide to come over send me a PM and I'll give you directions. It will be easy once you get near us as we shall have a sign up and police cones outside our place. We're no more than 15 minutes from Hertford and would love to see you. :dbgrtmb:

      Hi Shiney,
Wow just had a sneak preview on the link and the garden was beautiful so going to speak to the chief and see what the plan is and if we can get over to you, we will be coming cross country from Milton Keynes.

      Happy Egg Day
      GCQ

      Hi GCQ

It would be great to see you :dbgrtmb:.

It normally takes me no more than an hour to Milton Keynes and is about 60 miles. Easiest way is M1 and A414. The A414 goes almost all the way to us and most of it is dual carriageway. It's not really worth doing M1, M25 and M11 - which also goes almost all the way.

      Cheers :yahoo:
