    Hi

Someone told me yesterday that if you have ryegrass in your lawn you should use a rotary mower. Otherwise use a cylinder mower but always cut twice, second time at right angles to the first cut.

Has anyone else heard this? The person concerned was just off to spend £400 on a mower I know they can ill afford.

cylinder only if you want the perfect lawn with stripes. Need to have a good site, fairly level, good loam, in the sun and genrally fairly large.

Rotary suits most lawns and grasses - you can also get one with a roller for those stripes.
