Look pretty good as paper weights Robert, but to be perfectly honest they don't really ring my bell. But that of course is a very subjective opinion.

    On the subject of "spherical".
Several years ago I had a member of staff who prior to coming into teaching worked in the Civil Service (He was PPS to one of the Foots (Hugh/Dingle?) when he was Govenor of Cyprus) A memo had been circulated with a request for comments and one respondent who obviously thought the memo was a load of c*** replied 'spherical objects'. Head of department asked underling - 'Who is Spherical, and why does he object?'

What super images, Robert. I have to agree with Woo when he said that they look like paperweights. I have a small collection of paperweights, but when I look at your images again, I can't help but think that your designs would make a wonderful set of modern plates, either for collectors or to eat from. What a talking point at dinner...

Good idea strawman, I know Tesco can print Coasters from your own digital photos:
    http://www.tescophoto.com/wpp/tesco/buygifts_main.jsp?cat=tableware&type=coaster&colour=

I thought Asda or another supermarket printed designs on plates, but on googling I can't find any that do. They all can do Mugs which would make a nice Christmas gift.

Following is a tutorial on how I produced the spherical pictures.
At this time I have only tried it on flower pictures and the blueish light picture which is a night shot of some street christmas decorations.
It seems to work well with flower pictures as you have seen.
I use Photoshop so I`m not sure how, or if this is possible in other photo manipulation packages.
This is the original picture open in photobucket

With the picture open I use the selection tool and make a square selection within the picture.
I select Constrained aspect ratio with a width and height of 1

Now drag a square over your selected part of the picture.

Then, with my square selection active, I clicked on Filter>Distort >Polar Coordinates> and select Polar to retangular

    This is the result
    [IMG]

Next, I went to the Image>rotate canvass>180 which gives us this result
    [IMG]

Now go back to the Filter>Distort>polar cordinates and this time select Rectangular to Polar

    Click OK and thats it!
You should have somethig like this

Now you can crop or enhance as you wish. and finally save with a new file name.
Most important od all.....have fun and enjoy your creations
    robert
