This Spider sits in a pot high above our shower and over the last few months has really done very well and I think It needs dividing. Question is,can it?..if so any tips please.

It has also started sending out 'spiderettes'?which I have potted up but are still attached to the parent plant at present.
You can see the new growth on the plant better in this pic.

    I did warn you, Pal!!!

Yes you can divide it - sharp knife!! But you'll just end up with loads more, unless you can persuade some more GCites they'd love a few..... :D

Do I cut above soil level or dive into the root system and carve into sections? I reckon I can use them as gifts to the out-laws and hope for a Triffid gene to develope :D

Do the same as you'd do with your perennials outside - dig up (carefully!) and split down the natural divides, just making sure you've got viable roots on each part. I reckon you could supply your entire family and circle of friends within a year.....

The blame has been properly laid at the correct place......

MF will probably be wanting to send little spiders around the country too... and a couple of others..... Amazing how they're getting around, isn't it?

    Thanks Strongy! :D

Yes, I literally have thousands of seeds ready and waiting!
The Black Death started here so a callistemon plague could be on the way. :D
BTW they don't grow well in macrame baskets. :D :D

Blast, and there I was, getting ready to make a ginormous one...... (macrame hanger that is......)

Actually Pal has a defective memory, I tried to fob one off on him at the same time as the plants, months ago! Odd that nobody wants one.... not even MF - she had one of her own! (Sorry - that wasn't a secret, was it, MF? :D )

BTW Strongy, what were you on when you made that first attempt? Whatever it was I think we could all do with some! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
