Spider plants

    i was just wondering if anyone knew how much spider plants need watering? i love these plants :D

    We were just talking the other day about how none of us had seen thes plants since the 80's, when we used to put them in macram�© hangers! Where did you get yours? I believe they like dry conditions - but, as I say, I haven't dealt with one for ages!!

    I agree, on the dry side Dave, and no strong sunlight. [​IMG]

    We've had them in our nursery for years and grow new ones each year from the small plantlets. We start the new ones off in Dec/Jan so that we have good size specimens by early summer where they are used for bedding or temporary dislpay work. They don't mind a fair amount of water in the greenhouse but not too much in the home as the leaf tips will go brown and yes they do bleach in strong sunlight.

    well mine (which are offcuts of new plants) are turning so theyre like folded? thats not a problem as i know they havent got new roots yet, or am i wrong?

    Curling is due to water loss . If they are in open pots you could cover with a plastic bag to retain moisture. They usually pick up quickly, particularly if they had some root when you potted them.
