My spinach (SPINACH F1 REDDY) which I have since thinned out is starting form flower. I have been harvesting leafs for the last week or so.
It still seems be to sprouting small leafs from the stem so should I leave if or just bite the bullet and sow more. Or could I just cut the tops off.
This pic was prior to thinning

If the weather is hot and dry (like now) then they do start going to seed quicker. Once they start flowering it's difficult to stop them. Yes nip out the flowers, it does encourage a few new leaves, also start another batch from seed. I grow spinach and rocket in succession over the season, there is a simple rule I follow, as soon as I plant out one batch I sow another - that keeps me supplied constantly.

    Hi Captn'

    Johns advice is sound.

I grow Spinage Beet as well as normal spinage & Rocket.

The beet can be bullied into submission by picking the flower head off until it gets the idea that you want it to make leaves again, but succesional sowing is better for the others.

Ok thanks for the replies new spinach sowed and I will sort out a rotation also decided to use toscane instead of the previous one. It seems to grow leaves more like a lettuce rather than going all storky
