As a newbie to gardening I have nt tried spinach yet, but I did grow rainbow chard last year, which I was told is similiar to spinach. I had them re-planted in the garden by early April. I would guess, it be time to sow them indoors now.

I sincerely hope you can sow the perpetual stuff outside now because I did that today.

I grow lots of spinach over the year - I sowed my first small batch last weekend - but they will get planted in the greenhouse border in a couple of weeks time - I think its a little early for them to be outside just yet.

As soon as I transplant them I make another sowing in seed trays. Thats the way I keep the succession going. I would wait a couple of weeks for sowing spinach for planting outside.

The perpetual stuff is quite hardy so should be OK Claire.
