I'm starting to look at seeds for next year and wondering if it would be worth over-buying some in order to split/share with others.

Could be that the aggro means it's not worth the candle of course ...

Take Ricinus zanzibarensis as an example. I don't suppose anyone needs more than half a dozen seeds?

    They are 12p each (25-off) at Moles, falling to 10p @ 100-off

Jungle Seeds are 26p each (currently on sale at 20p each)
T&M are more, but don't have that "common" variety
    Chiltern seeds are 16p each
eBay 26p (exc postage) ... whoever is buying there needs to shop around!

Or I could just hang on to the extra until next year ... or offer any that I have here, and if not enough interest just flog it on eBay!

    I'm open to suggestions :)

I would be interested although I haven’t planned what to grow next year yet.

Castor Oil plant is one I want to try again next year for sure. I’m not sure if the savings are that great but if there were a few of us it would help.

This year from Moles I bought the smallest bulk of tomato rootstock, 50 seeds for about £13 plus delivery (Delivery was free). For me buying a one off like that all the postage goes onto the one order/packet so it works out quite expensive. I was thinking that 50 seeds would keep me going for a few years but seed viability (germination rates) drops off the longer you store them, so it’s better to buy fresh each year.

Aren't Moles free-postage (unless you buy Grass seed, Green Manure or Peas & Beans) ?

I'll let you know what I am ordering, just before I place the order, in case you want to piggy-back John.

Definitely a benefit of using Moles if you just need one or two packets (later on in the season when you find something got overlooked perhaps!)

On the subject of Ricinus.....if anyone wants some free seed of 'Carmencita' or the black-leaved, black-burred variety whose name I can't remember, please PM me your name and address, and how many seeds you'd like. These plants literally grow like weeds here, and if I leave all the seed to germinate, it'll be an all-summer task pulling them out!
