My hubbie ground up some omega seeds for our two free range Warrens - I said "they'll not eat that it's too fine". The next thing is he's in the kitchen baking 'hen biscuits'. I kid you not - and they love them. Crumble one up for them and it's gone in a nano second. Chef to hens is this a new trend ?

There's nothing wrong with giving hens special treats as they will love you all then more for it. Our hens favourite is pasta with a homemade tomato sauce (made from those going just a bit 'past it) with just a touch of basil, some garlic (good for them) and a sprinkle of cheese.

But it's always grapes they go crazy for.

Mine used to love a good spider, a bite of my pastie and a slurp of tea, despite being unable to digest milk

This wasn't optional as far as the chicken was concerned.

A good slug in your tea is better than a good slug in your beer can.

Discovered that hens really enjoy watermelon for breakfast.
