I have a couple of troughs which I planted with Spring bulbs when I moved here 2 years ago and they duly flowered, in Spring, both times.

I was watering those troughs yesterday evening and I noticed .... growth!!!

What on earth are they playing at? :dunno:
Has anyone else noticed any green shoots from their bulbs?

Let's be honest, the summer has been cold enough that they think that it must now be spring!

Miserable cold summer as far as I'm concerned.
What heatwave? The best that I saw was 28°c over the last few days. I have a few Salvia that have just said sod it for the year and will not be blooming.

Don't forget that a lot of it is down to day length hours, nowt to do with temperature.

That's why you can now buy Autumn flowering Wallflowers, Polyanthus, Stocks and Sweet Williams

PS, I've got Muscari coming up and Alyssum, Aubrieta and Kerria flowering.

                          Hi Longk,
Move about 40 miles Northwest. We've had rain ( or something a bit less, like pigeon wee ) on only 8 days from April right through to last week.
As for temperatures, nowt below 24 deg.

                            Nah thanks,

I like having Fuchsias ( besides Winter flowering ones ) flowering in January and picking Roses for Christmas :)
