    Hi All,

    Yes its early to ask but I like to be prepared, plus they are still in flower or just gone over so probably best time to ask

    As you all know I have taken out the lavender hedge and re placed with Bergenia's .

    So I will have space to plant some dwarf bulbs as it can be a bit windy at times and I cant see the taller varieties standing up to it all .....

    So, what has done well with you and what could you recommend , daffs crocus etc

    Spruce

      Crocus have done well in my little bit of wall garden (which has had to brave the worst of the winds!) and I'm currently enjoying fritillaries in the same site (alongside forget me knots - but don't mention those to longk :heehee: ).
      Snowdrops did well in that site too.

        Erythronium;
        This is "Kondo".............

        And E.dens-canis.............

        Fritillaria uva-vulpis (the most bomb-proof Frit I've ever grown!).............

        Hermodactylus tuberosus can be a bit fussy. It needs a good summer bake to do well and will take a couple of seasons to settle in but well worth the effort............

          It gets very windy here and it's gloomy during the winter seeing as the garden is north facing. I can't recommend dwarf iris enough. They cope brilliantly and the colours are lovely....

          I was also impressed with a daffodil called "Spring Dawn". Bearing in mind I don't get much direct sunlight in winter/early spring, it was flowering in February and looked very good in the windy conditions here. They flowered for ages.

            the Hermodactylus tuberosus looks interesting and the spot they would have does get a good baking and is very well drained

              They're certainly one of my favourite blooms of the whole year.
