      Grew a simliar one last year, but it had streaks of red in it. Slugs kept eating them.

        I grew them this year,they tend not to bulb up and are more like a leek in shape.
        They grew fine for me.

          I have grown this one for years, and it suits me as one good sowing pretty well lasts the year. Wouldn't have anything else:thumbsup:

            I'm not sure about this as a replacement for white lisbon.
            I only grew it once and that was years ago, it was said to be better as it doesn't form bulbs and can be picked old or young.

            As I remember I found them tasteless and stringy.
            All in all, very much like leeks.:biggrin:

              Well it looks like 2 ayes , 1 nay and 2 dont knows . So I'll give Ishikura a go , I'll grow Lisbon as well to hedge my bets . Unless anyone knows a good replacement for Lisbon ?:scratch:
