Wife was asking about freezing spring onions, a quick look on the net found the answer, also in the same article the author mentions cutting the bulb end roots and all and repotting to grow more of them.

Does repotting cuttings of spring onion roots retain the same tangy taste as its first growth ?

Never heard of freezing spring onions.
Dont they go all soft and mushy once thawed out?

As to replanting the roots, never even thought of that either.
I've never grown them in pots, only open ground.

Kind of looks like a waste of time to me, you can buy them year round in supermarkets, and that appears to be what they are suggesting you freeze:scratch:?

As for growing them on after decapitating them?
I'd think the resulting plant would taste the same, but it all seems a bit pointless to me.

i wouldn't bother. You can grow them all year round. Just sow them every couple of weeks

You can buy a packet of 'White Lisbon' seeds for about 40p from Wilko
