Love watching this each night and it is so nice to see the birds and animals as they all go about their business of survival.

This year they have a fantastic microscope which is showing us parts of species that are so small but they look fantastic blown up so to speak:snork:

Great also to see the same team plus the guests they have on Unsprung which comes on afterwards:biggrin:

The programme is on Mon-Thursday BBC2 8.00-9.00pm and Unsprung on the red button 9-9.30pm:smile:

Looks like me and you @M are the only ones that are interested in these programmes:heehee:

Pity though that they are on later in the evenings when some of the kids are already in bed as I think the younger they start being taught about wildlife the more they will enjoy it later on in life.I got my passion for wildlife when young as coming from a large family my parents couldn't afford to take us on holiday so I spent all my free time with my friends over the fields and woods making dens and learning all things of the natural world:biggrin:

I have watched a couple of programmes but find the juvenile banter too much and fast forward a lot of it. I have only watched it since Humble left.

Hi Strongy,I found the same last week on Unsprung the way the lads were carrying on and lots of people on the other Forums have been complaining about it as it is supposed to be a family show and the man got a bit lewd with their inuendos,so they were behaving themselves last night(Mr Kandy thought it funny though, but then again he thought Top Gear funny:snork:)

I never liked Kate Humble with her hand waving and I didn't like Odd Bill either:biggrin:

I'm not finding it as gripping as other years either, normally my world stood still because I loved watching it but it doesn't seem as informative to me as it used to be.

I enjoy most of it,but I think Chris Packam is a really brilliant presenter (love him or hate him) his way with words off the cuff , a mind of information, very passionate about his subject.

I stopped watching TV during the election! & to be honest I've not missed it! I've been keeping up with the news on the radio! Others at work have been talking about it & it would appear there's a lot of mixed views, it's a shame because I've enjoyed it in the past.

Sorry @martin-f I missed your post as I was fast asleep at 11.45pm when you posted about Springwatch 2017:biggrin:

We have been watching it each night and as usual found it very interesting as we usually do but I do hope the Blue Tits manage to fledge ok without that Great Spotted Woodpecker predations the box full of chicks.Have also enjoyed seeing the baby Jays,a first for us albeit on the TV and that pair of Pergrines on the top of Salisbury Cathedral is thrilling to watch:love30:

Thanks for the link and will check it out:blue thumb:

It's a lovely programme and Martin, Chris and Michaela are so knowledgeable. They are there because the KNOW THE STUFF, not just a pretty face. Love Martin's passion. Chris is a bit too haughty to mingle and mix. Stunning shots of wildlife. Captured one or two in my own thread and suddenly found @Kandy 's lovely thread.

Here, Martin is describing the male bee using its feathery legs to pat the female and the slow motion makes everything so clear and enjoyable. Untitled-1.jpg

                  Well worth catching up with.

Just a shame the bbc sacked Martin because he is a white middle class male, no other reason. This came from Martin himself.
