If you don't grow them, where do you get yours? I only ask as my folks always bought 25kg sacks and stored them in the garage which is what I've started to do. Just wondering how many peeps get theirs from farm shops rather than the supermarket

When i've run out of my own, I had been buying them from a local farmer, but I go direct to the wholesalers now, cut out the middle man (the farmer buys them in, they're not his own)

    £7 for 25kg.

We get ours direct from the farm that grows them. Being direct, the price fluctuates depending on all sorts of factors. At the moment its £8 a sack, but last year they reached £11 at one point.

Not had any stones yet, did see some fingers stitched into the top of a sack during my stint at the potato packing factory.

Farm shop, but usually buy half bags, I know they cost more but I dont eat that many.
Got my own pink fir apples to last me until Christmas but obviously they dont fit the bill with all meals.

Farm shop (but we don't eat many)

Us too. I find they keep really well (and we particularly like the flavour)

Good idea Ian! I really should look more closely at the farms round here, you never know what they supply...
