Hi I'm new here and hope you can help me. My butternut squash are forming = one is getting quite big! Is there anything I can feed them with. One of them as got a split in is this something to do with watering. Also my french beans are doing quite well in fact I think they are about finished. Is this right? They are both in pots. I think this site is great!!!

    Hi Chrispt!
The most likely reason for the split in the squash is irregular watering - drying out and then getting a good soak. Toms react in the same way.
I feed my squash plants with tomato fertiliser.

Your french beans may well be finished - if you've been cropping them for a week or two. Mine haven't quite started yet.
