First time growing squash, doing Sunbeam and Uchi Kuchi (well, that's what I call them). Did a bit of an experiment, some in the raised bed and a couple in a big pot. You can see the pot ones are doing better, bigger foliage and lots more mini flower buds. Though I've done a lot of bulking up on my raised beds, they are still far from ideal. Any other squash lovers around? I'm guessing these are looking ok after suffering a bit of what I think was nutrient starvation earlier in the year.
Are these about right for this time of year?

They are better than mine are at present!

Squashes are hungry things and also require warmth/sunlight, so mine are not doing too much as yet.

    Steve...:)

Cheers Steve. Warmth and sunlight, what do you want miracles! :snork: I've got to get a feeding plan, be nice to get a result on my first try.

Well, in this difficult so-called summer there are a few things to be chuffed about. My squash are going great guns so far. A couple of fruits about the size of tangerines on each of my Sunbeams and lots of flowers and buds on the Uchi Kuchis. Runner beans looking good too.

      Sorry to hear it madahhlia.
Well, my one and very unexpected success on the veg front so far this year are my squash plants. Lots of little fruits on every plant despite the cold and wet. Hoping to actually get one into a cooking pot at some point ... :)

One of the positives from the veg garden this year and my first home grown squash ever, one of many hopefully. This is one plant and have 5 on the go all doing well so far. This one going straight into a squash and mushroom risotto tonight.
