At the beginning of Easter week myself, mrs al and the alettes stayed in a static holiday home with some friends we met last year. We stayed in llanberis, very quiet, very scenic and had a great time, especially the al-etts!

It was the first time I stayed in anything like this and was blown away with the comfort, size and quality of it. :wub2:

Fast forward to last week, and after looking at a few we decided to buy one! I didn't want one near the coast ( we live 200 or so metres from the coast) so looked inland, in the country. Came across a love little village called Much Wenlock in Shropshire, countryside and views to die for, a very pretty Tudor village and instantly fell in love with the place. :imphrt:

After a second look and going through the finances, we did the deal last week! I can't wait to do the little plot surrounding the caravan :-) :spinning:

Not got any pics of it as yet as the camera battery died as I pulled it out of the case. It's the same as this except the fabric is cream not grey.

Stayed in one once, loved it. Impulsive, me?? Never.............

Hi al n ... we bought one some 15 years ago or even more on the Haven site in Sheerness and had it for several years. Said we would never do it again, but ... 15 months ago we bought one here up on a hillside with a cabin attached above the river overlooking the ancient Moorish capital here. Just 30 minutes from us and we can go there anytime we want to and there are only seven 'permanents' and spaces for perhaps a dozen 'mobiles' on five levels ... lovely.

Sometimes you have just got to do what you want to do and feel is right. Hope you enjoy as much as we do our 'get away' days. xx

We were looking at some on Anglesey last August , the level of fittings and layout of modern statics is incredible.

Nice one! As my teens say to me: YOLO! (You Only Live Once :heehee: ).

Actually, there was a point in the past year when Mr M was being the proverbial worry wart - and I said to him, if the worst comes to worst, we'll buy a static caravan and live out our days somewhere pretty  (It's not coming to that, but, it would be so lovely to have a bolt hole we could retreat to sometimes, so, top job!)

Wishing you many, many happy hours in your new bolt hole

Arrggghhh!! We lived in one for 18 months while building the house.....still get flashbacks, but then we were sharing with my mother:sad: Guess who got the big double bedroom?
I'm sure they're great for short breaks and a change of scene, though. Hope yours lives up to all your expectations, al n:)

We are going down this weekend to take the first car load of stuff ( it's like having your first house, we need to buy everything again!!)
We won't be staying in it this weekend as too much to do, but will next weekend. Dead excited I is!:hapydancsmil::hapfeet:

Lovely al, we used to have a caravan at Camber sands, often used to just take off for a weekend, not much packing as everything we needed was already in there. Enjoy!!!
