stimmer help

    hello all
    i have a petol stimmer
    it is a self feeding line which has run out so put new line in and can`t get it to feed out when i drop end of stimmer to release line
    any help please

    Are you sure you've wound it on the spool the right way round? (I'll go and have a look at mine as i think they all spin the same way) .....

    This is the head from mine which spins anti-clockwise to the left (looking down on it), so the line is wound on this way round (clockwise looking down at the head) so it will be released when 'bumped' (the bump button is on the underside)

    The other cause of the bump feed failing to work is because the line may have been wound on too loosely, and has bedded in on itself, and needs re-winding.

    P.S. Despite that arrow showing the wind direction on my spool I still get it wrong occasionally and my excuse is that I don't wear my reading glasses whilst strimming.
