stones in borders

    wouldnt have called this a project untill i started today.bought a garden sieve from argos just too see if i could get the stones out of my borders spent all day in just one border and probably got about a ton of stones and bricks and my first ever sore back no way did i think it was that bad but then remembered that my house was built on a old tipping yard and looks like my garden has just been back filled with any old **** :eek: ;) . once i have done all four borders i know it will be a lot better but what i would like to know is once the rain weather and worm movement has had 12 months will i be back to square one

    yes.

    its quite common for gardens to "grow stones"

    In my case i solved the problem by hiding the soil in stones (I hate grass so I stoned the lot, 6 1/2 tonnes of it)

    Argh, you didn't used to live in my house before me did you? A year later and i've proberly removed about half the gravel in my garden. It actually makes me like my clay [​IMG]

    W-G I think we should live next to each other. I have dedicated my life to stamping out grass. Of course, I like Hercule Poirot.

    I wouldn't chuck out the very small ones 1 cm and less these are the good ones. I have paid money to put a lot of these into my borders. But anything bigger - yes - out.

    The odd stepping-stone in your border can be quite handy.
