    Hello Everyone
I'm part of a community volunteering group
    Who have required a allotment
We cleaned it up last year of rubbish and stones
Thinking we ready to plant but on checking the allotment
    It's full of stones again
Anyone have any ideas why this is and any ideas how to stop this
    Thanks for any suggestions

Stones come to the surface when you dig.
You pick off the surface ones but the rain exposes more, its a never ending process on my allotment.
But over the years you can reduce the number slowly.

Some smaller stones are quite good on clay soil as they help the drainage.

And some people gather them up and chuck them (along with white rot infected onions, blighted spuds/tomatoes, etc. onto an adjacent plot that might look like it's not being used.
