    Hi All

I bought some Shallots from Wilkos in Worthing today and from what I am reading it would probably be best to put them in in a few weeks time, where would it be best to store them and would there be any benefit in chitting them??

By the way I mowed the lawn today seems early in the year to me!! Looks a lot tidier though

Dave, I`d be inclined to get the shallots in the gound now. The old, traditional, planting day, was the shortest day, which I think is 22nd of December.

Yea get them in now but if the ground is water logged I would wait a while otherwise they will probably rot. The pickling process is good (I have a good recipe) so I hope you enjoy them when they are harvested.
