That chestnut is something else strongy, most odlish trees I have seen have a spiral bark, I've never seen one like that.
The yellow buckeye makes a change from all those red horse chestnuts.
Your getting pretty good with that camera. [IMG]

Thanks, still learning, some didn't come out so well. Good job we went yesterday, it's chucking it down here. Think our local sea festival and Trawler Race today/tomorrow will be a wash out and so will half of Pal's holiday here if this continues through the week. :(

Beautiful pics Strongy. I especially like the Crinodendron hookerianum, just googled it but unfortunately it wouldn't survive outside here in the winter.

Pal, you returned before the weather changed fortunately. The glasshouse and polytunnel were hot beleive me. The flower beds are due to be started this week depending on the weather.
Stourhead is near Wincanton between Yeovil and Frome. I think is is one of the National Trust's biggest gardens.
Kedi, you may be right, it is hardy here but perhaps where you are would be too cold, I have never grown it so I don't know much about it. It just caught my (and everyone elses) eye. [IMG]
