    Hi,

Very sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place. I'm not much of a gardener, but thought someone on here might be able to help.

Our lawn has been in a bit of state for a few years, been meaning to do it this year but didn't get much summer. In many areas where the soil is showing and grass is not growing we seem to have a growing amount of dark green bubbly things appearing. We have searched and searched on google and can't find anything.

Does anyone have any idea what these are? Are they some sort of Fungi? Animal or Bugg poo? Or even worse...we have been worrying about pollution as we are aware there is a sewage pip running deep under our garden.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help,

    Charlie

I think I know what the OP is talking about, but may be wrong .... I work at a garden that has a few of these .... it is a green stalk (approx 1 foot high) with a big berry type thingy ontop

I'm not from here, dont have a clue what it is, but in the garden where they are growing, was never there before, and I planted that garden from scratch (including seeding the lawn) ...

so it's some type of weed

Sounds like Liverwort to me too. Don't worry about the sewage pipe, I've got one running through my garden and it's never been a problem. It's more likely to be the wet weather we've had this year. :)
