strange pests

    I have discovered a long leech type pest black and shiny in colour about the size of my little finger nail . These are numerous on my cottoneaster.I have never seen anything like them before ? has anyone any idea what they are and how do I rid the plant of them. Thankyou

    Oh, Yuck. First I would try a spray of Lemon Joy (clear dish soap with lemon smell) water solution that is safe for you plant. After that, can't help. Or maybe that white powder you use on rose bushes. That should be safe.
