I'm not sure it's the right book but I have weighed the RHS Encyclopedia of Plants And Flowers and it weighs 2.67kg. That is going to be very expensive to post. :rolleyespink:

Thanks, actually it's quite reasonable with Parcel2Go.com it comes out as £7.14 for a 25kg Box delivered with Home Delivery Network

The RHS Encyclopedia of Gardening weighs 2.454 kg.

RHS Encyclopedia of Plants And Flowers weighs 2.331 kg.

EDIT: If you visit Amazon.com (not .co.uk) they give shipping weights for books, which for the above are 6.8 (3.084 Kg)and 6.5 lbs (2.948 Kg) respectively. As I weighed my books on accurate scales, their shipping weights must also include an allowance for packaging of around +25%.

RHS Encyclopedia of Plants And Flowers [ 1992 reprint ] weighs 2.532 kg, so roughly the same ball park.

Anyone know where you can get really strong box at least 50cm x 50 cm x 15cm, to transport by courier a heavy [ about 10 kg ] and fragile item?

Do any of the courier companies sell them?

          Cheers.

I just got the box from a shop near where I live, noticed they had a stack stuck on the pavement out front and asked if I could help myself ^^

My son's having boxes made in specific sizes and strength to transport items to America. They are very reasonably priced.

Any Post Office will have a whole load of boxes specially designed for posting anything and everything - they come flat and all you have to do is tuck in a couple of tabs here 'n there. The Post Office website also gives you a 'price finder' and you can buy stamps online.
