strange toms ?

    hi all

    just wondered if any of you have had this before

    i have grown some beef toms (late) and half way up the stem there are like roots coming out ? the stem has white dots on it and it seems to be sprouting is this normal ?

    Yes sort of normal cattwoman, toms will root from the stem in a humid atmosphere.
    Very easy to root cuttings from tomatos, although I dont think many people bother.

    I get the same with any toms especially when I water part of the stem unintentionally.
