It is a pity that the reference threads are read only, there are a few on here myself included who love roses and have alongside woo a good knowledge. We would certainly have been able be able to make some valuble contributions to the compiling of these references.

Though as we don't belong to the 'royal national rose society' we are obviously not welcome!

A pity that no one on the admin ever seems to ask or consult.

I didn't even know there were any 'reference threads', perhaps an explanation of how to find them and where the info comes from might help please admin?

Don't mind Woo sharing his vast amount of knowledge-I definitely always get the benefit of his advice, it doesn't stop us discussing our various techniques and would only say "can we get someone that clever to do it with peonies?"

I am 100% positive that it certainly wouldn't be Woos intention to make anyone feel less welcome.

:) There is nothing strange at all Paul.. When doing threads like this to start with, as they need to be done properly & in some order so each section has the correct information without being split up..... These reference threads will be for everybody to use Paul... There is no need to get cross about them, they are only in the planning stage at present..

I personally would like to thank Woo for taking the time to do this for us all.!
    :thmb:

Allot of people have asked about permanent reference threads in roses So we are compiling some.. As you see these threads are closed at present while they are put into some kind of order that can be easily found & read by members..... There is nothing new in doing that.. Your knowledge & contributions are always welcome Paul. Perhaps when you see what has been done you would like to get together with Woo & contribute when they are organised but as you see they are not up & running yet & therefore it is not possible to post in them just as yet.. :) As you will see we are asking for your contributions by PM everyone..

    Thanks

    Marley ..

Hi Paul I can assure you that I had no Intention causing any offence or implying that my love and knowledge of Roses is any more than yours or any other of our friends here at Gardeners Corner,It was my Idea solely to aid us all,The Mention of the ( Royal Rose Society)of which I am very proud to be a member, was just to let our friends here know just how serious I am about Roses, and I still add to my knowledge every day,You and everyone here at GC are more than welcome to contribute towards them and criticise them,You can email me or PM or contact me anytime ,after all I am just trying to make the best Gardening forum a little Better and any imput will certainly help me in my aim which is to have some easy to understand and easy to find Threads ,I know that any Forum is only as good as its members and that is what in my oppinion makes GC the Best Gardening Forum.:thumb::)

"Allot of people have asked about permanent reference threads in roses" I was one of those that asked for this. I must say that if this causes offense, it certainly wasn't intended. Seemed to me like a good idea, particularly the gallery. Come on folks, don't be so sensitive :thumb:

Woo, my concerns are allayed thanks.

I will look forward to the reference threads and if I can, add some of my knowledge to them if there are any gaps that I can fill.

A great idea go for it Woo,Paul is there any chance we can sucker you in to doing the garden maintainance side, some of the threads you have done on your projects and how to go about them are well worthy of merit, I am an avid diy person and have still picked up valuable information from your threads they are well worthy as reference threads.

Good idea there, walnut :thmb:. I'm sure Paul will be able to get a good DIY reference going.

I'm pretty useless at DIY and when I have to do any it is usually on a suck-it-and-see basis. Trouble is, I always seem to suck the wrong thing :hehe:
