    How's this for a container? A Hazel nut has found it's way in to a scaffold pipe which was lying behind my compost bin..must have been a mouse larder :D

    If you are like me I always seek to grow this sort of "accident" on and have had several reasonably strong trees from such plants. All for free!

    Yep!never like throwing them away...Trouble is I have two Hazel trees in the garden already and several more in tubs...along with Holly,Ash ,Apple and Pear :rolleyes:

    You can always leave them in pots and Bonsai them I have a minature hawthorn and a couple of silverbirch done from rogue seedlings they are 10yrs old about 1ft tall and look great

    [​IMG] I aproached our village committees Pal when I had a load of Birch & hazel saplings & young trees. They snapped then up & they now are all living happily around the playing fields hedgerow & various other spots around the village... [​IMG] Anyway you must know a few farmers there Pal. Allot of them are glad of a mass planting here & there.. Well here they are.. [​IMG]

    Mostly Market gardening in the Vale and praire pollution on the hills here Marley. Think I'll have to have a walk along the brookside and find a suitable spot.

    [​IMG] Oh yes, forgot you had all the market-gardeners round there.... Not even a village playing field committee or friendly local land owner??? :( Shame, as we don't have enough trees..! Well then, Pal, yes I would maybe take a walk somewhere like that & plant them myself...!!! [​IMG]
