I planted two rows of strawberries earlier this year. They were all offshoots of previous years runners. They all grew into plants, all threw out their own "runners". However, not one single strawberry appeared - no buds, no fruit. So, question is, do I dig them all out and forget it or should I leave them in the ground until next year. Would there be any likelihood of them fruiting if left in??

Before anyone asks, I have no idea what variety they were.

Leave em in, they'll crop for the next 3 years and then take some more runners and replace the plants with the new ones :)
