I grew 2 strawbs for the first time last year and started some new plants from runners. I plan to keep them in pots as have no space in garden. They have survived the winter but need potting on. I know I shouldn't harvest them this year but instead pick off the flowers. Can someone tell me what size pot I should put them in. They're currently in 3" and definitely ready to move.

I've seen them in those terracotta herb pots that have the holes on the sides.

    "terracotta herb pots"

I've got a multi-level strawberry pot thingamajig, and whilst it looks very nice, and productive, in practice it doesn't do anything like as well as the manufacturer's blurb - which looks like this:

3" sounds too small for fruiting... get them into bigger pots, keep them well watered and feed them.

I am a novice when it comes to strawberries. I grew some last year for the first time and just left them in the terracotta strawberry pot and they have all reappeared this year looking very healthy. Maybe they won't fruit? I'm not really sure what I should have done?
