Strawberry and Raspberry Picking Underway

    For the last couple of days we've been picking strawberries and raspberries, the strawberries aren't exactly abundant, but what we do have are HUGE :hate-shocked: and very tasty :biggrin:;), the raspberries are as last year cropping very heavily, but this time they are also very big and juicy :dancy:....yummy :snork:

      Brilliant Bilbo:dbgrtmb:...i picked a few Strawberrys and rasps today...Rasps have gone straight in the freezer for future Raspberry Muffins...the Strawberrys didn't reach a dish though:biggrin:...this is what it's all about:thumbsup:

        Absolutely - 'Summer' fruits - yummmmy :snork:

        My wife makes some pretty darn good raspberry and white chocolate muffins or to be healthier, raspberry and blueberry :biggrin:

          Plenty lovely strawbs but no sign of a raspberry in our garden. I think we've got Autumn fruiters, though.

            Ive managed to freeze approx 22o strawberries but the raspberries ae only just ripening:)
            I didnt know bananas could be frozen till this week,ive not grown the bananas but bought lots,cut them in half, popped a lolly sick in them and into the freezer on a tray..yummy:blue thumb:
            you can add choc and bits to them before eaten:)

                    Me too. We've all had a couple of dozen each with ice cream today, given a couple of punnets worth away, frozen another couple of pounds and there's still loads left and more to pick tomorrow.

                      Them strawberries are tasting good in my lambrini aswell :ccheers:
                      or possibly making the lambrini more palatable :heehee:.....cant afford asti martini no more x

                        our strawberries are doing particularly well his year too, they're not monsters like yours Bilbo675 but my goodness are they tasty :wub2:we have been having strawberries & cream sitting in the garden in the sunshine every morning for over a week now, bliss :SUNsmile:

                          I didnt have time to plant strawberries, but some alpine strawberries I planted last year, I get a constant crop from, they seem to not stop until well near Christmas which is nice...now to wait on my blackberries...:)

                          Harvested over 1kg of raspberries yesterday in just a few minutes and there's as many again to come off tomorrow - yummy :dancy::snork: :dbgrtmb:

                            My Raspberries are rubbish this year, but at least my Loganberries look like that.
