and i keep seeing fish blood and bone, is this good stuff and whats its main use?
also how would i apply it to my barrel si it reaches ALL my plants, i have a funnel down the centre which i use to feed them, water them , would this be how?

Your method of feeding sounds pretty good, but you could also use a section of plastic water pipe with a few holes in the sides, this would get the water/feed deeper. Fish blood and bone is a good general fertiliser, but something higher in potassium (K) would help develop and ripen fruit though it shouldn't be applied until the fruit has appeared.
As far as cutting back goes there are a number of schools of opinion. Some folk advocate cutting back after the fruit has been picked, but I always leave it until the leaves wither in winter as I reckon that as long as the leaves are green they are still helping feed the plants. The only things I cut off are unwanted runners as I reckon these divert food from the main plant roots.

that great help dave thanks, with regards to the funnel, it is a long black pipe, perforated, so it feeds everything from top plants to bottom, works extremly well. i shall take ure advide and wait till the wither, as i quite like the look of the big green leaves hanging over my barrel, thanks again
