Dear Gardeners, I have recently seen an advertisment for a Patio strawberry kit in the Suttons catalogue. Has anyone had experience of these methods of growing strawberries in a garden with limited space? Any comments would be most welcome.

I know you can grow strawberries in hanging baskets. Going to try it this year. The fruit hangs down, easy to pick and is out of harms way from slugs and other pests.

Don't know about the patio kit you mention though.

I have strawberries in a pot and in hanging basket - both work brilliantly!

I've just sent off for one of these kits. I'll chuck netting over them when they start to ripen.

no bird issues at all and I have a big bird table that is very popular as well. They seem to leave them alone but I do have a road full of cherry trees!!! ;-)

Strawb. kit arrived today and my g-daughter helped me to plant it up. It stands about 2'6" high but I've put it on a stand to make it about 4' high, to help the sun to get to the fruits. Just realised that I won't need netting 'cause I've got a very active cat:wink:
Looking forward to see how it goes on. The plants look very healthy.:)
