Strawberry plant

    I've had this for a year now in my garden, seems to be growing out words now, I was wondering can I put this in a hanging basket. Any advice

    It's still growing from the sides, if I do put it in a hanging basket, will it kill ? So If I sound silly.

    The wee plants that are growing out from the sides are known as runners - if you lift them up, pop them into a pot of compost they will take root after a few weeks at which point you can cut off the stems that join them to the main plant - more strawberry plants, for free :)

    You can lift the main plant (although personally, I would wait until your runners have taken root), but try and lift it without damaging the roots, and pop it straight into some nice compost.
