Strawberry runners

    Lots of runners appearing on the wall of Strawberries that I would quite like to grown on - if I cut them off & pop them in some compost will they root or do they still need to be attached to the parent plant ?

    Think they need to be attached. Could you hang pots of compost at strategic points and peg runners into those?

    Make a sausage of compost around them with some cling film (for an "air layer") ?
