I grew some tomatoes last year and was impressed with my self that they didn't die, (they were like cherry ones). We had so many I didn't know what to do with them all, so my friend suggested growing strawberrys this year, in a hanging baskets, Is this an easy thing to do? I don't have a greenhouse, but my garden is a very hot sun trap, with the sun being in most of the garden by about 2pm -5pm. Thankyou.

Strawberries are so easy to grow from seeds and a lot cheaper, unless of course you know someone who has strawberry cuttings.

Just follow the instructions on the packet.

    Happy growing!!

    Hi prettypolly,
you get your 'baby' plants from the runners produced during the years growth, usually after fruiting.
if you know someone that has some plants in their garden, ask if you can cut off some runners, if they havn't already cut them off, the little plants along the runners can be potted up into 3" pots, or put straight into the ground where you want them to grow.
treat as herbaceous plants and split them every 3-4 years, or replant more of the runners.
    hope this helps
