Hi, My string of hearts is poorly! I mistakenly thought it would be a good idea to put it in a small plastic greenhouse in the summer. I have now noticed that most of the 'strings' have died back in the middle so there is growth at the base and at the ends. I don't know what to do? It has dropped a lot of leaves as well. Is there anything I can do to rescue it please?

Take as many cuttings as you can in case it doesn't make it. Give it a little feed. Bring it indoors on a window sill. These aren't fussy plants but you do need to try and emulate their natural environment a bit. This one has had a shock so pamper it a bit. Good luck. :)

    The soil looks very tired.
I would wait until spring and then repot in a "cactus/succulent mix"
